Tandem



A way to experience the thrill of freefall and an exhilarating canopy ride... with only 10 minutes of instruction! Jumping from 10,000' to 13,000', you, attached to your specially trained tandem master, experience the joy of freefalling through the air for over 60 seconds! The tandem master then pulls the ripcord and both of you fly the parachute back to the dropzone for a soft, on-target landing in front of your friends and/or family.

Category A - Ground School and First Jump $275

This is a comprehensive six hour class. You are learning to jump with your own parachute. During the one minute freefall portion of the skydive you will have two instructors assisting you by maintaining a grip on your harness. The classes are held 8:30 A.M. Monday through Sunday. Category B - One Jump $160
On this jump you will perform turns and forward motion in freefall and learn more about canopy control. During the freefall portion of the skydive you will have two instructors assisting you by maintaining a grip on your harness. Prerequisite - successful completion of Category A.


Category C - One Jump $160
Your instructors will release you during the freefall portion of the skydive. In Category C you will learn hover control (The ability to fall straight down). Prerequisite - successful completion of Category B.


Category D - Two Jumps $125 each
Your instructor will release you during the freefall portion of the skydive. In Category D you will learn how to perform solo turns and move forward in freefall. Prerequisite - successful completion of Category C.


Category E - Two Jumps $125 each
This is the first time you will exit the plane without your instructor holding onto you. In Category E you will learn to recover stability by performing flips and how to do fast forward motion (tracking). Prerequisite - successful completion of Category D.


Solo Jumps! $19 to $20 each
You have now acquired the skills to be your own jumpmaster! You've learned all the necessary skills to maintain control during freefall and land your parachute safely. You can now practice your newly acquired skills by doing solo jumps. Prerequisite - successful completion of Category D.


Getting a license

You will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to safely jump with other skydivers as well as obtain an "A" license. These skills are acquired through a combination of solo jumps and jumps with a coach.



Recurrency Training

Recurrency training requirements can be found in the USPA Skydiver's Information Manual, Section 5.2. Each spring Skydive Twin Cities holds "Recurrency Training Days". Watch our calendar in the spring for dates.

Here is a brief overview of the requirements.

* Students who have not jumped within the preceding 30 days should make at least one jump under the direct supervision of an appropriately rated USPA Instructor.
* USPA A-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within 60 days should make at least one jump under the supervision of a currently rated USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating altitude awareness, freefall control on all axes, tracking, and canopy skills sufficient for safely jumping in groups.
* USPA B-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding 90 days should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license.
* USPA C- and D-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding six months should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license.
